Final Project: Identity
July 23, 2007I’m in graphic design, so I’ll stick with the identity site for my final project. The one I did for Intro to Scripting Languages was cool, but extremely basic and simple. I look forward to taking that same basic concept and redesigning the whole thing. For some reason, I got stuck on absolute positioning, and the result feels very rigid. Last week’s lecture gave me much more confidence in myself as far as floated layouts go, so I’m gonna try running with that.
I think there are a few of us GDB students keeping are heads a float in this class. Like you, I’m planning on doing an identity site. I was pretty pleased with the overall design and function of my the one I did in intro, but am hoping to switch things up a bit in this go around. I’m sure we will be learning lots of cools stuff to try. Is you original site still in the gallery…you might post the url, so we can take a look.
Ya I feel floated layouts are alot easier and practical in real-world situations as opposed to absolute positioning which was all i knew as well. Heck we were both in Mrs. Glass’s class…. anyway, I hope it works out. I would use your cool logo concept but make something real fun and exciting to play with it.
Sean, and others, bring in your previous sites and lets take a look at what you can do differently.
I was also stuck on absolute positioning and am glad to know more about floating. I’d like to check out your previous work!
I agree with you Sean, floated layouts seemed a lot more simple than what I remember from our intro class. Doesn’t seem to be as much guess work involved, and I am all for that. I look forward to seeing what you are going to do for your identity site, I’m sure it will be awesome!
